How does Tina, the artist, create each Bat Bend?
Tina hand-paints the image on the surface of a flat piece of glass.
This first part of the process requires about two hours
Next, a matching piece of blue/clear "streaky" glass gets slipped behind the first piece containing the hand-drawn image. These two pieces then get fused together in a kiln. This takes between 20-24 hours at 1475-degrees F (801.67 C).

For the final phase, the newly fused "sheet" needs to be further fused together in an "S-mold" to create the two "bends." This requires an additional 18-20 hours of baking in a kiln at 1175-degrees F (635 C).
